Salary: $15.00 per hour
Schedule:
8am-4pm, 6 days a week
- Load aluminum shapes onto steel racks as instructed by Supervisor and Saw Operator
- Follow material stacking specs to ensure product is loaded properly and defects are avoided
- Keep empty racks prepped and prepared for loading
- Use basic hand tools and a manual strapping tool throughout the shift
- Ensure all saw chips are removed from extrusions with air guns provided
- Act as a “Middleman” when required, helping Stretcher Operators move long pieces of aluminum across the cooling table
- Keep work area clean throughout the shift, especially when production is slow or extrusion press is under maintenance
- Move metal product and/or materials/racks manually as required
- Learn specific extrusion positions to become cross‑trained and fill in when necessary
- Comply with Company policies, including all safety policies
- Must be 18 years of age to work in the plant
- Must be able to work at a steady pace to keep up with material flow
- Must know how to read a tape measure or be trained to learn how to read measurements
- Must follow all Extrusion Department procedures and guidelines
- Must be able to work overtime depending on production needs
- Must be willing to work in other departments as needed
- Must be able to read and understand basic instructions (Spanish instructions are provided as needed)
- Must have the ability to communicate verbally and in writing
- Should have average math skills as this position loads material into racks in sets/rows
- Must have good attendance – show up for work every day you are scheduled
- Must be willing to participate in all required job and/or employment‑related trainings, including safety, technical, and role or tool specific trainings
This position requires the individual to work in a factory/manufacturing environment. The temperatures can fluctuate from hot to cold and the noise level is high. An individual in this role will be able to walk, bend, stoop, twist, turn, climb, and push/pull frequently. With proper safety equipment, an individual may work above ground level (off the ground) occasionally. The role requires staying aware of movement and/or noises around them.
The individual must move 25 lbs frequently and up to 50 lbs occasionally. The individual will remain stationary and/or traverse the factory as needed. Effective communication, both verbally and in writing, and the ability to read and follow written procedures are required.
