BRT Extrusions – Recut Saw OperatorBRT Extrusions, located in Niles, OH, is interviewing for a Saw Operator in our Recut Department. This is a full time position and overtime may be offered and/or required as business needs change.

Overview of role:
The Recut department works closely with our Extrusions, Packing, Paint Line, and Fabrication Departments. Assisting with the cutback of extrusions, this department carefully and precisely conducts high precision cuts as per customer specs. Recut is also a rework department fixing extrusion metal mistakes. Saw Operators are trained on the job and work alongside experienced staff. Saw Operators work with our production system EPICS and read a production schedule to ensure we deliver orders on time.

They oversee the saw helpers and delegate them to keep the work load steady and smooth. Saw Operators must have good communication skills, basic math skills, and be quick minded. Reading a tape measure and learning decimal lengths is required. As a leader, you will be expected to have good attendance and be a role model for utility employees.

Essential duties for the Recut Saw Operator Have knowledge of and operate the Recut saw and related department tools. This role must know how to read measurements and will be trained.

At the start of the shift make sure Saw is working properly;
Table and rollers are intact.

Must meet production goals by keeping the saw running and maximizing shift run up time.

Using EPICS, this role will read work orders and follow schedule demands.

This role will record data on production sheets and transfer data into computer (EPICS).Will manage people and delegate duties in the Recut area as necessary to meet production goals.

The Recut Saw Operator sets the tone and leads, trains, and communicates with the team in ways that helps production.

The Saw Operator will use a handheld radio as primary means of communication.

Ensure that the team is working within company safety guidelines including but not limited to wearing ear protection and safety glasses.

Ensure the Recut daily production schedule is available and present, so daily production goals are met.

Ensure that all Start and Stop times are correctly entered into EPICS. (Including lunches/breaks)
Ensures that all finished product from Recut is labeled properly. Approved By:

Ensure material is set up and ready to cut for the next crew.

Requirements for The Recut Saw Operator Can work at a safe consistent pace.

Prior leader experience (at least 1 year).Must maintain good attendance and commit to your full schedule.
1 Year manufacturing experience with good attendance is a plus. 1 Year experience in fabrication and/or Recut areas is a plus.

Must be 18 years of age to work in the plant.

Must be able to work varying shifts as needed.

Must have ability to read and understand basic instructions in English.

Must have the ability to communicate verbally and in writing in English and have average math skills.

Must be willing to move to different departments as needed.

Must have some computer skills to enter data and learn necessary systems. Should have experience using a tape measure and digital tape measure tools. Must be willing to participate in all required job and or employment related trainings. This includes but is not limited to all safety and technical or role or tool specific trainings.

Physical requirements:

This position requires the individual to work in a factory/manufacturing environment. The temperatures can fluctuate from hot to cold and the noise level is high. An individual in this role will be able to walk, bend, stoop, twist, turn, and push/pull frequently. An individual in this role will need to be always aware of movement and/or noises around them. An individual in this role must move 25lbs frequently and up to 50lbs occasionally.

An individual in this role will remain stationary and/or move about the factory as needed per essential duties of the position. An individual in this role will be an effective communicator verbally and in writing, and this role requires individuals to read and follow written procedures. (English/Spanish instructions will be made available as needed)
