Substitute Teacher

Substitute Teachers are part of LCA's on-call pool and are available to cover classes across grade levels as needed. Substitutes maintain classroom structure, follow teacher lesson plans, and uphold school mission and statement of faith.

• Christian Faith
  :
  Active personal Christian faith and full agreement with the school's Statement of Faith.
• Background Check
  :
  Must pass a criminal background check and child abuse/neglect screening before employment.
• CPR / First Aid
  :
  Current certification required, or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Mission Alignment
  :
  Full agreement with the school's mission, vision, core values, and statement of faith.
• Character and Conduct
  :
  Lifestyle consistent with biblical standards and Christian role model expectations.
• Church Involvement
  :
  Active membership or regular attendance at a Bible-believing Christian church.
• Professional Development
  :
  Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development, including ACSI accreditation-related training.

• Education
  :
  High school diploma or GED required; college coursework or degree in education or related field preferred.
• Preferred Experience
  :
  Prior experience working with children in school, church, childcare, or youth programs.
• Preferred Flexibility
  :
  Ability to accept short-notice assignments and availability during school hours (Mon–Fri 8:30–3:00).
• Required Classroom Management
  :
  Ability to maintain a structured, safe, and respectful environment in the lead teacher's absence.
• Required ACSI Certification
  :
  Not required for substitute positions.

• Substitutes must complete universal requirements, including background check, Statement of Faith agreement, and CPR / First Aid certification.
• ACSI certification is not required for substitute service.
• Compensation for substitute service is set separately from full-time staff pay scales.
