Ozarks Area Community Action Corporation (OACAC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing poverty and strengthening communities by providing services and support to individuals and families throughout the Ozarks.
OACAC Head Start provides comprehensive early childhood education, health, and family support services to children ages birth through five and their families, preparing children for success in school and life.
Position OverviewOACAC Head Start is seeking motivated team members for the position of Travel Teacher Assistant. This role supports teaching and caregiving responsibilities in both Head Start and Early Head Start classrooms. The Travel Teacher Assistant operates from an assigned home-base center and travels locally to provide classroom coverage during staff absences while helping maintain a positive, safe, and nurturing learning environment for children.
Work ScheduleMonday–Friday
40 hours per week
Full-Time
Key ResponsibilitiesProvide classroom support in Head Start and Early Head Start classrooms
Assist with teaching, caregiving, and supervision of children
Travel between assigned locations to provide coverage for staff absences
Support implementation of classroom activities and daily routines
Maintain a safe, positive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment
Collaborate with teachers, families, and center staff to support children's development
Perform additional duties as assigned
Minimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED
Experience working with preschool children
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to travel between assigned program locations
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
Preferred QualificationsEarly Childhood degree

CompensationSalary range: $16.24 – $20.24 per hour
