Sanitation Site Manager

Ecowize USA Noblesville, Indiana, United States

About this position

Why Ecowize?

At Ecowize North America, we go beyond cleaning food production facilities — we safeguard public health and drive operational excellence. As part of our team, you’ll join a mission-driven organization committed to food safety, innovation, and people development. If you’re ready to lead, inspire, and make a measurable difference, this role is for you.

About the Role:

Sanitation Site Manager

As a Sanitation Site Manager, you’ll lead daily operations at one of our client’s food production sites — ensuring equipment is cleaned, sanitized, and safe for use by the next shift. You’ll manage a team of sanitation professionals, uphold safety and food safety standards, and partner closely with both your Area Manager and the client’s on‑site leaders.

This role is hands‑on, fast‑paced, and purpose‑driven — perfect for someone who thrives in operations, leads with integrity, and loves building high‑performing teams.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead and Develop a Team:
Train, coach, and support sanitation techs to follow safety protocols and sanitation SOPs while delivering quality work on time.
  • Oversee Daily Sanitation Operations:
Manage disassembly, cleaning, sanitizing, reassembly, and chemical usage per USDA/FDA standards and site‑specific SSOPs.
  • Deliver Results:
Meet site‑level KPIs and labor targets while maintaining high food safety and safety standards.
  • Own Compliance:
Ensure audit readiness at all times, maintain accurate documentation, and support third‑party and regulatory inspections.
  • Collaborate with Key Stakeholders:
    • Customer:
Build trust with plant leadership by proactively communicating performance and aligning sanitation goals with production targets.
    • Engineering & Quality:
Coordinate cleaning access and work through recurring issues with sanitation effectiveness, allergens, or hygienic design.
    • HR & Finance:
Partner on hiring, training, and budgeting to ensure a productive, motivated, and right‑sized team.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement:
Identify process gaps, implement efficiencies, and help elevate sanitation practices across the site.
What You Bring
  • Experience:

5+ years in a leadership role within a food processing sanitation environment.
  • Sanitation Knowledge:
Strong working knowledge of GMPs, SSOPs, ATP/Pre‑Op Inspections, allergen control, and USDA/FDA requirements.
  • Safety Leadership:
Familiarity with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Hazard Communication (HAZCOMM), PPE, and chemical safety.
  • Bilingual Fluency:
    English and Spanish preferred.
  • Tech Fluency:
Able to use digital tools (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace) for scheduling, documentation, and reporting.
  • Bonus if you’ve led corrective action planning, audit support, or labor cost management at the site level.
Key Competencies for Success
  • Operational Excellence:
You can run a tight ship while keeping your team engaged and safe.
  • Accountability:
You own outcomes and hold others to the same high standards.
  • People Leadership:
You coach, motivate, and develop frontline teams with empathy and clarity.
  • Problem‑Solving:
You make sound decisions quickly, even under pressure or when faced with complexity.
  • Customer Focus:
You build lasting partnerships with clients by delivering on your word and driving results.
What We Value
  • Partnership:
You build trust by being transparent, dependable, and collaborative.
  • Excellence:
You hold the bar high and help others reach it too.
  • Integrity:
You do what’s right — even when it’s hard or inconvenient.
