About the role:

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer I to join our team in Spencer, Indiana. You will support and lead initiatives that provide daily support for products, processes, materials and equipment while helping drive production goals, including safety, quality, delivery, cost and productivity.
You will partner cross-functionally to evaluate, troubleshoot and implement manufacturing processes within the business unit.
Work model, sponsorship, relocation: This role is fully on-site in Spencer, Indiana. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or relocation assistance for this position at this time.
Responsibilities- Monitor equipment, machines and tools to correct equipment issues and identify process gaps contributing to nonconforming parts, low yields or product quality concerns.
- Troubleshoot new and existing product and process issues related to design, materials or manufacturing methods.
- Support business goals and product performance by utilizing tools such as process capability studies, process development methodologies, Six Sigma and value improvement projects, report preparation, and process and test documentation.
- Summarize, analyze and draw conclusions from test results to drive data-based decisions.
- Identify, implement and manage equipment requirements to support production goals.
- Collaborate with research and development, process development, quality, production, regulatory, equipment engineering, supply chain and marketing to ensure project success.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably manufacturing, electrical, biomedical or mechanical engineering.
- Demonstrated understanding of engineering and problem-solving principles, data analysis and production flow tools such as Lean manufacturing.
- Ability to develop creative solutions and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated initiative to identify, prioritize, communicate and execute improvement opportunities.
Preferred qualifications:
- Internship or other applicable experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in the medical device industry.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to develop and present ideas using visual communication methods.
- Experience troubleshooting, analyzing and repairing equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to drive process improvement initiatives.
Requisition
Salary range:
Minimum $57,100 — Maximum $108,500
The anticipated compensation and benefits offered by Boston Scientific will vary based on location and other factors. Compensation will be commensurate with experience, education, and certifications. This statement reflects typical ranges and is not a guarantee of final compensation.
Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may include variable compensation (e.g., overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus targets. Compensation for exempt, non-sales roles may include variable compensation, such as annual bonus targets and long-term incentives, subject to plan eligibility.
