Gas Engineer II

Location: Noblesville, IN (flexible around Noblesville or Evansville metro area)

Job Summary

The Gas Engineer II coordinates field and office compliance efforts throughout regions, working with various levels of management and operations to maintain and manage facilities such as integrity risk assessments, system inspections, repair and prevention plans, record keeping, and identification of all capital and O&M projects necessary to maintain compliance.

Essential Functions
  • Apply value analysis to make maintenance/capital decisions, i.e. repair replace and repair redesign for gas distribution systems.
  • Use software tools to analyze asset histories, identify specific repetitive leak failures and effectively address identified areas.
  • Review all leak failures, determine root causes, and recommend actions to improve system reliability.
  • Direct and coordinate with engineering and operations personnel to execute assessment testing schedule on all capital and O&M projects related to transmission facilities.
  • Oversee data management of existing facilities, field inspections, repairs, and manage replacements of all facilities.
  • Develop and refine relative risk based preventative/predictive maintenance programs for gas transmission systems.
  • Coordinate efforts with Operations, Engineering and Compliance to ensure that correct preventative and predictive maintenance activities and inspections are performed when due.
Education
  • Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Civil or other approved engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
Experience
  • Requires a minimum of two (2) years experience in gas engineering, operations, utility design or related project construction design.
