Position SummaryThe HVAC Systems Engineer plays a critical role in the design, integration, and continuous improvement of HVAC, climate control, ventilation, and environmental comfort systems for Evolve Transporters' custom race transporters, hospitality units, specialty trailers, and mobile work spaces.
You will partner closely with Engineering, Operations, Production, Purchasing, and Project Management to develop innovative HVAC solutions that enhance customer comfort, reliability, energy efficiency, and overall product performance.
Success in this role means designing robust HVAC systems, improving product standardization, reducing installation and service issues, supporting manufacturing execution, and delivering a premium customer experience.
What You'll OwnHVAC System Design & Product Development
Design HVAC, ventilation, heating, cooling, fresh air, and environmental control systems for custom transporters and specialty vehicles while ensuring performance, reliability, serviceability, and regulatory compliance.
Drive HVAC system standardization across product platforms and implement improvements that reduce complexity, improve manufacturability, and increase long-term reliability.
Engineering Analysis & Technical SupportPerform load calculations, equipment sizing, airflow analysis, and system performance evaluations while providing technical support to production, service, and project teams.
Manufacturing & Installation SupportPartner with fabrication and production teams to ensure HVAC systems are installed correctly, efficiently, and in accordance with engineering requirements.
Evaluate equipment, vendors, and new technologies while developing supplier relationships that support quality, cost, and product performance objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Design HVAC systems for race transporters, hospitality units, specialty trailers, and mobile work spaces.
- Perform heating and cooling load calculations.
- Develop HVAC layouts, schematics, BOMs, and installation documentation.
- Select and specify HVAC equipment, controls, ducting, ventilation, and related components.
- Collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, and Production teams during design and build phases.
- Support prototype development, testing, and validation activities.
- Troubleshoot HVAC performance, reliability, and field service issues.
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective action efforts.
- Develop HVAC design standards and best practices.
- Evaluate emerging HVAC technologies and efficiency improvements.
- Support purchasing with component selection and supplier evaluation.
- Maintain engineering documentation and revision control.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and manufacturing.
