Systems Administrator Junior

Job Summary

The Junior Systems Administrator is responsible for maintaining network infrastructure or systems infrastructure depending on assignment, resolving technical issues, and using a proactive problem-solving approach to ensure seamless connectivity across the organization. The incumbent will apply knowledge and experience, including an understanding of the OSI model and good operational practices to achieve this.

• Administer and maintain network hardware including firewalls, switches, routers, and wireless systems.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
• Monitor network and systems performance and implement necessary adjustments to optimize efficiency.
• Replace or upgrade faulty components as needed.
• Collaborate with users to troubleshoot and resolve system-related concerns.
• Implement patches, updates, and upgrades to ensure network and systems security and reliability.
• Coordinate installations and upgrades with internal teams and external vendors.
• Respond to system alerts and lead troubleshooting efforts in complex environments.
• Maintain accurate records of network diagrams, device configurations, and backup protocols.
• Evaluate new technologies and recommend improvements to existing systems.
• Periodic after hours on-call
• Other duties as assigned.

• Minimum:
  Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Engineering, or other related field, along with relevant technical certifications.

• Minimum:
  Six (6) months work study or internship.
• Preferred:
  One (1) year of experience with network administration or a related IT role.

• None required; CCNA, CCNP, or Network+ Preferred.
• Valid Driver's license with no moving violations in the last 5 years.
