The Advanced Practice Provider is a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant who, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team, is responsible for providing comprehensive health care to patients in the area of specialty.
Job Responsibilities- Prescribe and regulate medications per written collaborative agreement.
- Apply extensive knowledge of physical assessment, differential diagnosis, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and management of acute and chronic patient conditions to the assessment and treatment of patients.
- Demonstrate understanding, skills and principles of infection prevention, reduction and control; safely and effectively use medical equipment.
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary team, organize assignments, manage time, multi-task, and assist team members to achieve outcomes.
- Conduct comprehensive health assessments, including psychosocial, cognitive and personal assets and limitations with emphasis on wellness.
- Establish diagnosis; order and evaluate diagnostic studies; perform therapeutic procedures; manage follow-up plans per protocols.
- Act as a resource to healthcare staff and implement educational programs to improve patient/family management.
- Contribute to research: generate ideas, collect data, share findings, apply new knowledge.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Nurse Practitioner:
Master’s Degree from an Advanced Practice Nursing Program and RN and Nurse Practitioner licensure for the State of Indiana. - Physician Assistant:
Graduate of an accredited School of Physician Assistants;
Master’s degree preferred.
- Nurse Practitioner: 5 years clinical nursing as an RN; preference for 1 year as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Physician Assistant:
Experience in hospital or physician practice; preference for 1 year as a Physician Assistant.
- Registered Nurse licensed to practice in Indiana.
- Advanced Practice Nurse and Controlled Substance Registration licenses in Indiana.
- DEA Registration.
- Basic Life Safety (American Heart Association).
- Credentials with ANCC or other nationally recognized credentialing center.
- Physician Assistant license in Indiana.
- Controlled Substance Registration license in Indiana.
