Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic

We are hiring for the role of Equipment Maintenance Technician/Mechanic in the Street Department.
Schedule: 7:00 a.m.
- 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
- Operate, repair, and maintain various models of trucks, commercial motor vehicles, and equipment.
- Diagnose and repair issues for a variety of engines, systems, and equipment including, but not limited to:
- Diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, braking, transmission, steering, suspension, exhaust
- Small engine equipment
- De-icing and snow removal equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance on trucks, commercial vehicles, and equipment involving oil changes, tires, & brake checks.
- Perform welding or fabrication tasks on trailers and other equipment as necessary.
- Assist in cleaning and maintaining vehicles and equipment as assigned.
- Research and find information using multiple outlets, including the internet and technical manuals.
- Conduct field repairs in case of emergency or sudden breakdown.
- Occasionally work extended evening or weekend hours. Serve on 24-hour call for emergency situations as assigned.
- May be required to work other shifts as needed, or to cover vacant positions due to vacations, sickness, or other absenteeism.
- Possession of a valid Class A commercial driver's license with air brake & tanker endorsements within six months of full-time employment.
