Position Summary:

The Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) provides direct oral hygiene services and preventive dental care to patients of all ages. This role supports MCHC's mission by promoting oral health, preventing disease, and collaborating with the dental team to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care. The RDH delivers services in accordance with Arizona state regulations, clinical protocols, and professional standards of practice.

Essential Functions
  • Provide High-Quality Clinical Dental Hygiene Services

    The RDH delivers preventive and therapeutic oral hygiene services in accordance with state law, professional standards, and organizational protocols. They assess patient needs at every visit to ensure appropriate, evidence-based care is provided.

  • Educate Patients and Community Members on Oral Health

    The RDH provides individualized oral health education that promotes disease prevention and proper home-care practices. They may participate in outreach efforts by delivering oral health instruction to schools and community groups.

  • Maintain Accurate and Detailed Clinical Documentation

    The RDH records all assessments, procedures, and patient interactions in the electronic dental record in real time. Documentation must be clear, complete, and compliant to ensure continuity of care and accurate clinical communication.

  • Uphold Infection Control, Safety, and Quality Assurance Standards

    The RDH follows all infection control procedures, sterilization protocols, and safety guidelines to maintain a safe clinical environment. They participate in quality-improvement efforts that support regulatory compliance and enhance patient safety.

  • Deliver Exceptional Patient Experience and Customer Service

    The RDH ensures each patient receives compassionate, respectful, and clear communication throughout their visit. They help reduce patient anxiety by explaining procedures and responding to patient needs in a professional manner.

  • Collaborate with Dental and Medical Team Members

    The RDH works closely with dentists, dental assistants, and other clinical staff to coordinate patient care and maintain efficient clinic flow. They share relevant clinical information promptly to support integrated, team-based care.

  • Other duties as assigned

    The RDH performs additional tasks as requested to support clinic operations and ensure continuity of patient care. These responsibilities may vary based on organizational needs and operational priorities.
