HVAC Engineering Technician

Overview

The Building People, LLC, has a position open for a HVAC Engineer I. The HVAC Engineer I is responsible for assisting the Engineer Tech 1 for the efficient operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems for the assigned property(s). Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) maintaining a clean and safe working environment, performing rounds, conducting routine assessments, and performing day-to-day preventive and corrective maintenance for assigned properties.

• Assisting other engineers and other staff as needed.
• Ability to use hand tools, portable metalworking tools, electrical, welding equipment, mechanical components and/or equipment.
• Maintain operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, plumbing equipment and systems, including but not limited to maintaining a clean and safe work environment, performing rounds, conducting routine assessments, and performing day-to-day preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Inspection of engine room equipment, fan room equipment, cooling towers, motors, house pumps, electrical rooms, back-up generators, fire pumps, sump pumps, and ejector pumps.
• EPA Level 1 and 2 certification.
• Commercial HVAC/R Journeyman level training/certification at a college/trade school.
• Able to perform duties of the General Maintenance 1.
