Job Summary

Republic TV – English News Channel is looking for a News Researcher to support the newsroom with in-depth research on hard news, including national, international, and political developments. The role requires strong news sense, speed, accuracy, and the ability to work in a fast-paced newsroom environment.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct real-time and background research on:

National and international news

Political developments

Breaking and hard news stories

Track news updates from:

Government sources

International agencies

Think tanks, reports, and credible databases

Prepare research notes, briefs, timelines, and fact sheets for news producers, anchors, and editors

Verify facts, data, quotes, and claims before broadcast

Assist editorial teams during breaking news and live shows

Monitor news wires, official statements, press releases, and digital platforms

Coordinate with reporters, desk editors, and producers for story development

Maintain accuracy, speed, and editorial standards at all times

Eligibility & Skills

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Political Science, International Relations, or related fields

Strong understanding of:

Indian politics

International affairs

Current affairs and governance

Excellent research, analytical, and fact-checking skills

Good command over English (written and verbal)

Ability to work under tight deadlines and high-pressure situations

Prior experience in a newsroom, research desk, or media organization is preferred

Willingness to work in shifts, including nights and weekends if required
