Role Overview

We are looking to hire a Tax Associate with strong experience in transactional and advisory tax work to join a leading law firm. This role is ideal for professionals who have hands-on execution experience in tax structuring, transactions, and advisory assignments. Candidates with a predominantly litigation-focused tax background will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

- Advise clients on direct and/or indirect tax matters with focus on transactions and structuring.
- Assist in tax due diligence, deal structuring, and execution support.
- Conduct technical research and prepare tax opinions and advisory notes.
- Support partners and senior lawyers on transaction-driven mandates.
- Liaise with clients and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of assignments.

Candidate Profile

- Experience:

3–5 years in tax practice (law firm preferred).
- Qualification (Preferred): CA + Law.
- Also Considered:
- Lawyers with strong tax experience.
- CAs willing to pursue a law degree alongside work.
- Strong exposure to execution-driven tax assignments (must-have).
- Exposure to transactional tax and advisory work is essential.
- Limited litigation exposure is acceptable but pure tax litigators will not fit.
- Candidates with Direct Tax experience preferred;
Direct + Indirect combination also acceptable.
- Profiles with more Indirect Tax and limited Direct Tax may be considered if transactional exposure is strong.
- Candidates from Big4 firms will not be considered.
