Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented In-House Legal Counsel with 10+ years of relevant experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex legal documents across multiple jurisdictions. The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of international legal frameworks especially India and the United States, contract law, and regulatory compliance to support our global operations.
Key Responsibilities
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal agreements including commercial contracts, NDAs, vendor agreements, licensing, partnership, and service agreements across multiple jurisdictions.
Participate wherever required in company strategic transactions (Mergers and Acquisitions, Legal due diligences, fund raising etc.)
Provide legal support and risk assessment on transactions, ensuring compliance with local and international laws.
Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., Sales, Finance, HR, Compliance) to provide proactive, business-oriented legal advice.
Advise on various company legal matters like employment law, and other relevant legal frameworks.
Maintain and update internal contract templates and legal documentation to reflect current legal developments and business needs.
Manage relationships with external counsel, ensuring cost-effective and efficient legal service.
Contribute to the development and implementation of legal policies, procedures, and best practices.
Qualifications
LLB, or equivalent legal degree
10+ years of post-qualification experience, preferably with a combination of top-tier law firm and in-house legal department roles.
Demonstrated experience in multi-jurisdictional contract drafting and negotiation. Experience in handling the US laws is a must.
Solid understanding of international commercial law and regulatory frameworks.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
High level of professional integrity and discretion.
Preferred Attributes
Experience working in a global or multinational organization.
Familiarity with Fin-Tech, Software Technology, BPO/KPO industry-specific regulations.
Proficiency in legal technology tools.
