Accounting Manager

Reporting To: APAC Finance Controller
Role Overview
The Accounting head is responsible for leading and overseeing regional accounting teams across multiple geographies, ensuring consistent financial reporting, strong governance, and alignment with global policies. This role acts as a key bridge between controllership, corporate finance and regional teams, driving standardization, compliance, and operational excellence while enabling strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
1. Global Accounting Oversight
Provide leadership and oversight to regional accounting teams
Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reporting across regions
Drive consistency in accounting policies and application across geographies
2. Group Reporting and Audit
Oversee APAC monthly close
Ensure compliance with IFRS and local statutory requirements
Support with financial data for group audit and reporting requirements
3. Governance, Risk & Compliance
Establish and monitor strong internal controls across all regions
Oversee internal and external audits, ensuring timely resolution of findings
Ensure adherence to corporate policies and regulatory requirements
4. Regional Team Leadership
Lead and mentor regional accounting heads
Build strong collaboration between global and regional finance teams
Drive accountability and performance across distributed teams
5. Process Standardization & Transformation
Drive global standardization of accounting processes and policies
Lead finance transformation initiatives (ERP harmonization, automation, etc)
Identify and implement efficiency improvements across regions
6. Stakeholder Management
Act as a key partner to controllership , business leaders, and regional finance heads
Provide insights into regional performance, risks, and opportunities
Support strategic initiatives such as M&A, restructuring, and market expansion
7. Technical Accounting & Advisory
Provide guidance on complex accounting matters and new standards
Ensure appropriate treatment of significant transactions
Act as escalation point for regional accounting issues
8. Cash, Working Capital & Balance Sheet Oversight
Oversee working capital management across regions
Ensure strong controls over intercompany transactions
Qualifications & Experience
CA / CPA / ACCA or equivalent professional qualification
8–15 years of progressive finance experience
Strong experience in global accounting and reporting
Proven track record of managing multi-country teams
Experience in large multinational or matrix organizations
Key Skills
Strong leadership and influencing skills in a global environment
Deep technical accounting expertise (IFRS / US GAAP)
Excellent stakeholder management at senior executive level
Strategic thinking with strong execution capability
High level of integrity and attention to detail
