Nursing Clinical Instructor – Part Time

Location:

West Palm Beach, FL — on campus.

Description

Faculty members are responsible for delivering high-quality education services, including engaging students, fostering learning, role‑modeling professionalism, and ultimately producing competently trained students prepared for professional careers. This involves collaborating with the Associate Director of Nursing, Director of Nursing, and other campus faculty and staff to ensure consistent and high-quality delivery of assigned courses.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Full‑Time Faculty must become ATI Champions within 90 days of hire date.
  • Prepare course plans and materials.
  • Deliver course lectures, facilitate labs, and/or clinical rotations.
  • Monitor equipment and supply needs.
  • Maintain classroom.
  • Seek an approved substitute in case of faculty member’s absence.
  • Enforce HCI policies (attendance, dress code, clinical policies, etc.).
  • Participate in orientation, graduation, and pinning ceremonies (full‑time faculty required and part‑time requested).
  • Work on retention plans and program development.
  • Attend staff and faculty meetings (full‑time faculty required and part‑time requested).
  • Participate in committees and knowledge‑sharing forums (full‑time faculty required and part‑time requested).
  • Facilitate student engagement.
  • Direct and assess student progress to meet theory and performance requirements.
  • Monitor student progress and follow‑up as needed.
  • Provide weekly feedback reports to the ADON, DON, SVPAA, and Group Campus President/COO.
  • Maintain licensures, certifications, and other required paperwork for personnel file.
  • Maintain a minimum of eight (8) CEU’s annually by participating in professional development, in‑services, conferences, or scholarship.
  • Encourage students to submit course evaluations, review evaluations, and use feedback to improve delivery.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
  • Participate in ACEN and other accreditation activities.
  • Comply with all governmental regulations and accreditation standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Skills and Qualifications
  • Faculty members must have the degree required for the specific discipline and possess appropriate credentials per Florida Board of Nursing, ACEN, ACCSC, and governing bodies; at least 50% of faculty must hold a master’s or doctoral degree in Nursing.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and analytical skills.
  • Strong teaching skills and ability to manage clinical and skills lab activities efficiently.
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • People and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of course content.
  • Effective at directing and evaluating student learning and lab performance.
  • Prepared in educational theory and techniques.
  • Willingness to follow high ethical standards.
Education / Experience
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN or equivalent) from an accredited program (Required).
  • Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN or equivalent) preferred.
  • Current, active RN or APRN license from the Florida Department of Health (Required).
  • Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association (Required).
  • Minimum of four (4) years of related practical work experience in the subject area(s) taught (per ACCSC).
Workload Expectations
  • Workload depends on faculty classification.
  • Faculty must start and end on time for courses, clinicals, and labs.
  • Overtime requires prior approval from the ADON/DON.
  • Teaching occurs in face‑to‑face contact in didactic, clinical, or lab settings.
  • Full‑Time Faculty are required to teach a minimum of 30 hours per week, attend meetings, participate in accreditation, serve on committees, and take on additional duties.
Compensation

Annual merit‑based salary increases are awarded to all eligible full‑time and part‑time faculty members.

Physical Demands

The role requires activities typical of a professional office setting and higher education teaching environment, including communicating with coworkers, presenting to a classroom, demonstrating procedures, and traveling between classes. The candidate must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Working Environment

Professional office setting with moderate noise levels and controlled indoor climate. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

Salary

$45–$50 per hour + eligible for annual merit increase.
