Qualifications

• High School Graduate, or equivalent required. Two or more years of college preferred.
• Must be mature, reliable, and able to relate to young people.
• Previous successful experience working with Elementary School children.

Reports To:

Building Principal.

Performance Responsibilities:

• Work under the immediate supervision of the Elementary Principal.
• Work with individual students or student groups assigned.
• Work with students to assist with reading skills acquisition.
• Cooperate with teachers and staff to aide student in accomplishing goals.
• Perform other such duties as may be assigned by immediate supervisors.

Employment

Terms:

• Position is a nine-month position or for the school year. Conditions of employment are established in accordance with the provision of the School Board.
• Position is 7.50 hours per day, benefits are available.

Nome Public Schools is a single-site district on the coast of the Bering Sea in Northwest Alaska. We have approximately 675 students enrolled with an elementary school, a middle/high school, a 5-8 charter school and a homeschooling program. We are also pleased to launch an ANSEP Acceleration Academy within our middle/high school in the fall of 2025.
