The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities seeks Engineering Assistants (levels 1, 2, or
3) to support infrastructure projects in Nome, including highways, bridges, airports, and utilities. Responsibilities include construction inspection, project documentation, materials testing, contractor coordination, and design support. This is a flexibly staffed position offering career progression through the Engineering Assistant series.
- Bachelor's degree with major in engineering, architecture, or land surveying from ABET-accredited institution (or equivalent with EIT/LSIT certificate)
- Valid State of Alaska Driver's License required
- For EA2:
One year entry-level engineering experience or five years progressively responsible subprofessional engineering experience - For EA3:
Two years engineering experience with one year at working/intermediate trainee level - Knowledge of civil engineering principles, problem-solving, oral communication, accountability, and teamwork competencies
