Associate Cook

Position at Providence Valdez Medical Center in Valdez, AK. Full‑time, 1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week, variable 8‑hour shifts.

Under supervision, responsible for preparing food for residents, patients, staff, and special events; setting up dining areas; washing and sanitizing dishes; ensuring quality nutrition services and maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary dietary department.

Prepare meals for patients and staff, set up dining areas, wash and sanitize dishes, maintain the dietary department’s cleanliness and safety.

• National Food Handler Card – State / County / City Authority upon hire.

• Vocational training in food or nutrition.
• 6 months on‑the‑job training or experience in quantity food preparation, estimating food needed, requisitioning and storing food and supplies, basic principles of dietetics and principles and requirements of sanitation and safety in food handling.
