Description
PRIMARY FUNCTIONThe Night Manager supports and assists the Assistant Manager and General Manager in all aspects of the daily operations of the Bonanza Express Store.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Coordinates activities of the Bonanza Express Store retail clerks on the evening shift.
- Recommends applicants for hire.
- Evaluates night shift Bonanza Express employees.
- Maintains up-to-date prices.
- Stocks inventory.
- Orders and receives merchandise.
- Tallies remaining cash amounts in register for following day.
- Provides customer service.
- Advises customer concerning quality.
- Demonstrates use of equipment.
- Calculates discounts.
- Wraps, bags customer merchandise.
- Oversees employees security, sales and record keeping procedures and practices.
- Manages night shift employees of the Express Store.
- Train staff
This position assists with supervision of the Retail Clerks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES- Ability to work well with others and under pressure.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Strong written, verbal and organizational skills.
- Operates in a retail business environment.
- Great analytical and math skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Excellent leadership skills.
- Requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day.
- Frequently lift and/or move items that weigh more than 50 pounds.
- Occasionally lifts and/or moves items up to 70 pounds.
- Three Years supervisory convenience store/retail management experience preferred.
- High School diploma or GED (General Education Degree) preferred.
- Must be at least 19 years in age to sell tobacco products.
- Valid Alaska Driver’s License
- Ability to lift 70 lbs. and lift heavy boxes
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job operates in a retail business environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopier, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
