JOB SUMMARYThe Heavy Equipment Operator assists in planning and coordinating daily workload and safely operates heavy equipment fleet. Duties include maintaining and repairing roads, airport runways, drill site pads, winter maintenance (roads/runways/pads) including snow removal, and material handling/organization on pads in the Kuparuk field.
This is a SEASONAL, BENEFITS ELIGIBLE position starting January 2026 and ending around May 2026.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES- Reports directly to the Roads & Pads Foreman.
- Perform pad, road, and runway maintenance and repair to specified crown, grade, and elevation; winter maintenance and snow removal; support facilities maintenance and construction with equipment support; provide drill rig moves with equipment support.
- OSHA trenching and excavation certification and safe trenching/excavation practices.
- Operate Kuparuk fleet safely and proficiently (examples include Cat dozers, Volvo loaders, Cat excavators, Kenworth/Peterbilt 5th wheel tractors, Bobcat, Volvo skid steers, 16 Cat blades, lowboy, flat bed, end dump trailers, loader-mounted snow blowers, water trucks, rock trucks).
- Use rotary lasers and site levels to establish grade and set grade hubs and stakes.
- Prepare, update, and maintain logs, records, and timecards.
- Inspect and service equipment; perform pre-operation inspections; identify malfunctions; submit maintenance requests; clean equipment; minor repairs as needed.
- Assist in inventory of supplies, PPE, equipment, and tools.
- Commit to safety and environmental priorities in all work at Kuparuk.
- Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability for safe practices.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid (U.S. issued, Alaska compliant) Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements required.
- Current DOT Medical Card required.
- NSTC safety training certification required.
- Ability to work 84 hours per week on a 2x2 rotation required.
- At least three (3) years of experience operating Cat Dozers, Volvo Front-end Loaders, Cat Compactors, Cat Excavators, Kenworth and Peterbilt 5th Wheel-Tractors, Bobcat and Volvo Skid-Steers, 16 Cat Blades, Lowboy Trailers, Flat-bed Trailers, End-Dump Trailers, Loader-mounted Snow Blowers, Water-trucks, and Rock-trucks required.
- Four (4) or more years of experience in Construction or Industrial settings, Petrochemical or Oil & Gas, on the North Slope or other Arctic environments preferred.
- Current OSHA Trenching and Excavation Certification preferred.
