JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Public Works Fleet Division is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Technician I to join the team. This position performs maintenance and repairs on Unified Government-owned vehicles & equipment. This role is responsible for diagnosing issues, completing repairs, and ensuring safe and efficient operation of the fleet.
- Perform routine maintenance and repair on all U.G. owned vehicles.
- Perform repairs on small engine equipment and related components.
- Perform emergency road service as needed, including tire-related repairs.
- Assist other technicians as needed.
- Perform related responsibilities as required or directed.
- Operate equipment as directed in emergencies within the confines of the Central Garage location.
- High school or GED; experience in repair and maintenance; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the necessary skills and knowledge sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of this position.
- ASE certification is preferred, but not mandatory.
- Able to obtain CDL Class B Driver's License with airbrake endorsement within the first six months of employment.
- Valid KS Driver's License is required.
Salary Range: $27.36/hr.
