A mission driven nonprofit community health center is seeking adetail-oriented
Bookkeeper to manage our daily financial operations. The ideal candidate willpossessa robust understanding of Accounts Payable (A/P),Accounts Receivable (A/R), and General Ledgermanagement. Key functions include establishing vendor accounts, performingmonthlybank reconciliations, and accurately processing high volume financial transactions via lockbox and electronic deposits.
- Financial Record Management: Maintain the general ledger, including recording all daily financial transactions such as sales, expenses, and payroll entries.
- A/P & A/R Oversight: Process vendor invoices and payments, generate client invoices, and proactively follow up on outstanding accounts receivable.
- Payment Processing: Execute thetimelyprocessing of incoming payments via check, credit card, and Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT).
- Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly reconciliations for multiple bank and credit card accounts to ensure internal records match statements.
- General Ledger Maintenance: Post journal entries andmaintainmeticulous records, including ledgers, journals, and supporting documentation.
- Compliance & Administration: Ensure strict adherence to internal accounting procedures and provide administrative support for departmental initiatives as required.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Quick Books, Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs), and Microsoft Outlook.
- Communication: Strongprofessionalwritten and verbal communication skills.
- Financial Accuracy: Exceptional attention to detail with a proven track recordofmaintainingaccuracy in high volume data entry.
- Organizational Excellence: Ability to manage competing priorities in adeadlinedrivenenvironment while maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Industry Knowledge: Prior experience within aNonprofitor
Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) environment is preferred, but not required.
- Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience: 1–3 years of progressive experience in general accounting, specifically focused on accounts receivable and accounts payable.
