Payroll Specialist

Northcross, GA

Position Summary

The Payroll Specialist will process payroll and maintain employee time records in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and company policies. This role works closely with other departments to ensure accurate and timely payment of wages and applicable deductions. The position requires on‑site attendance a minimum of two days per week and is located in Norcross, GA. Additional attendance may be required based on business needs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Process payroll information, including time worked, paid leave, holidays, withholding, and other data on a regular schedule (weekly, monthly).
  • Ensure proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes and garnishments.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations, including tax obligations and labor laws.
  • Reconcile payroll to the general ledger and monthly bank statements.
  • Issue or reissue physical or replacement direct deposits due to payroll errors or final discharge.
  • Record and process federal and state payroll tax deposits.
  • Maintain precise payroll records and documentation, preparing reports for internal use or audits.
  • Address employee inquiries regarding payroll discrepancies, paychecks, and changes in payroll information.
  • Perform other duties and projects assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or a related field with 3+ years of payroll processing experience for both union and non‑union facilities.
  • Proficiency in payroll software; ADP experience preferred.
  • Any payroll certifications preferred.
