Salary Range: $25.00 To $33.00 Annually
Job purposeThe AR/Billing Specialist is responsible for invoicing, collections, and cash application, with a strong focus on construction billing practices including AIA documentation and progress billing.
Essential responsibilities and accountabilities:- Prepare and submit invoices (progress, T&M, milestone billing)
- Complete and manage AIA billing (G702/G703)
- Track retainage and contract billing requirements
- Ensure all supporting documentation is included with invoices
- Monitor AR aging and follow up on past‑due accounts
- Apply cash receipts and reconcile AR balances
- Work with project managers to resolve billing issues
- Maintain accurate billing records in the system
- Assist with lien waivers and compliance documentation
- Adhere to all company safety requirements.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.
- Regular and prompt attendance and punctuality.
- Working long hours may be required to meet business needs and is considered an essential function of this position.
- Must have expert abilities in Excel and PowerBI
- Strong strategic thinking and leadership abilities
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication
- Ability to manage multiple ongoing projects in a hectic environment while meeting deadlines
- Stress resilient
- Required:
- 3–5+ years of AR or Billing experience
- AIA Billing experience
- Construction billing and collections experience
- Preferred:
- Business Central ERP experience
- Low‑voltage / contracting industry experience
- Deliver high‑quality work within assigned deadlines, whether under direct supervision or independently.
- Maintain professional interactions with all employees, customers, suppliers, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Contribute effectively as a team member on all assignments.
- Work independently while recognizing the importance of communication and coordination with other team members, departments, or organizations.
- Establish and uphold a reputation for consistent and punctual attendance.
- Ensure compliance with established guidelines for criminal background checks and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) checks and maintain this compliance consistently.
- Works in an office / climate‑controlled environment.
