Ideal Building Solutions is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Safety Coordinator to support and help advance our company-wide safety program. This role works closely with the Safety Manager, field leadership, and trade partners to ensure compliance, consistency, and continuous improvement across all job sites. The IDEAL candidate is someone who takes ownership and cares about doing things the right way.
The Safety Coordinator is empowered to improve processes, contribute to SOP development, and play an active role in strengthening our safety culture—while also managing day-to-day safety administration and field support.
This is a full-time in-office role Mon-Fri 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Some travel is expected for this position.
Base Salary: $60,000 - $70,000
Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Trade Partner & Jobsite Safety Documentation
- Review and manage Toolbox Talks and Daily JSAs using Safety Culture.
- Assign and track safety checks for high-hazard work activities
- Monitor and follow up on safety observations and corrective actions
- Assist in developing and maintaining trade partner safety programs, including:
- Training and certification tracking
- Ongoing safety checks and follow-ups
- Equipment check-in/check-out and chargebacks for lost items
Operational Safety Support
- Assist with Site-Specific Safety & Health Plans
- Translate safety documents and training between English and Spanish (preferred)
- Support monthly safety meetings (topics, presentations, activities)
- Assist with fleet safety administration
- Maintain training rosters and safety documentation
- Conduct regular jobsite safety audits and inspections
- Support incident documentation and follow-up
- Compile and maintain safety metrics and trailing data
- Manage PPE inventory and distribution
- Coordinate equipment inspections, maintenance, and repairs
- Assist with the selection and purchasing of safety equipment (PPE, fall protection, specialty gear)
- Issue POs for safety equipment as needed
- Assist with fleet safety systems (e.g., Samsara video review, driver assignments)
- Support DOT compliance, audits, and reporting
- Clear a National, State, and Local Background Check
- 3-Year Motor Vehicle Record meets standards for driving company vehicles, have current & valid Driver's License
- Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen & physical
- Pass the 90-day introductory period
- Computer-savvy, have experience with Google Workplace & safety platforms such as Click Safety & Safety Culture
- Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety) is preferred but not required
- 40-60 Hour Work Weeks with up to 100% Travel
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey safety information and instruction.
- 2+ years of experience in construction safety or related field
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Comfortable working in both office and field environments
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and digital safety platforms
- Ability to communicate clearly with field personnel and leadership
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Experience with Safety Culture, Salesforce, or Samsara
- OSHA 30 (or willingness to obtain)
- Familiarity with fall protection and construction safety standards
