Operations Manager, Program / Project Manager
Salary Range: $75,000 - $105,000
Full‑time travel position with a rotation cycle of 30 days on‑site followed by 5 days off. Candidates who are not able to travel full time will not be considered for the position.
The Roofing Superintendent is a field‑based leadership role responsible for the daily supervision and coordination of commercial roofing activities. This position ensures that projects are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with Ideal’s quality standards. The Superintendent serves as the primary field leader for Ideal crews and trade partners, managing jobsite activities and representing Ideal professionally with clients and general contractors.

Duties And Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To Project Leadership & Execution- Lead and manage on‑site roofing operations from mobilization through project closeout.
- Coordinate daily work plans, task assignments, and crew leadership.
- Monitor production to ensure schedule milestones and daily goals are achieved.
- Enforce OSHA and Ideal safety policies at all times.
- Conduct and submit daily Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and fall protection systems.
- Take immediate corrective action on any safety violations.
- Enforce company standards, policies, and procedures across all field activities.
- Ensure adherence to company standards.
- Identify and mitigate project risks and elevate issues when appropriate.
- Oversee installation to ensure alignment with specifications, drawings, and manufacturer standards.
- Collaborate with field team members to conduct frequent quality control checks and resolve deficiencies in real time. Ensure photo evidence is taken and uploaded into Slack.
- Collaborate with Ideal Preconstruction/QC teams to support inspections and final approvals.
- Supervise and direct trade partners, ensuring understanding of scope, schedule, and expectations.
- Assist when needed with crew timekeeping and adherence to Ideal's standards.
- Provide feedback on trade partner performance and communicate issues to the Ideal Operations Team.
- Confirm delivery, quantity, protection, and staging of all roofing materials.
- Report damaged or missing materials to the Project Manager immediately.
- Maintain organization and accountability for tools and equipment on site. Communicate any damaged, needing repair, or general equipment needs to the PM and Operations Team.
- Submit accurate and timely daily reports, as required, using Procore, Smartsheets, or other tracking systems.
- Maintain a clean and organized field log with weather, production, safety, and manpower notes.
- Communicate daily with the PM and Operations Team on needs or pitfalls.
- Act as Ideal’s field point of contact for clients and GC representatives. Communicate clearly, respectfully, on time, and as required to set needs and expectations.
- Approve direct reports, time off request, time sheets, and have performance reviews.
- Attend jobsite meetings and relay updates to the Project Manager.
- Be held accountable for field quality, daily productivity, safety, and crew performance.
- Ensure adherence to project schedules and details.
- Proactively address underperformance through coaching, feedback, and structured follow‑up.
- Maintain clear communication and coordination with Project Managers & Pre‑Construction.
- Track and report key field metrics (labor hours, production rates, incident rates, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and internal safety protocols.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and walk on commercial rooftops safely.
- Extended hours and weekend work may be required based on project demands.
