Responsibilities- Champion Safety – Take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others, in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards. Perform duties safely, responsibly, and proficiently. Assume responsibility for the safety of all personnel and activities in the plant area.
- Coordinate Schedules – Coordinate schedules and manpower of fabrication, erection, electrical, and water system on capital projects. Communicate schedules with appropriate stakeholders.
- Ensure Cost Effectiveness – Design the most cost-effective modifications to existing plants. Ensure that projects progress at an optimum level with minimal downtime.
- Build Relationships – Create a strong working relationship with suppliers and vendors. Provide an example of good leadership. Keep open and effective lines of communication with division staff and operation level personnel.
- Additional Responsibilities – Other duties as assigned.
- Education – College or technical school education related to construction trades is preferred.
- Experience – Five years of field experience with trade skills, welding, and equipment operation is preferred.
- Functional Knowledge – Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints. Knowledge of welding, erection, fabrication, electrical, concrete, and plumbing practices.
- Flexibility – Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands. Must be able to work outside in all types of weather and tolerate loud noise exposure.
