Elementary School Principal - Rockbridge Elementary

Position OverviewGwinnett County Public Schools, Georgia's largest school district, seeks an exceptional and visionary Principal to lead a school community focused on academic excellence, student achievement, and continuous improvement. The Principal serves as the instructional leader of the school, fostering a culture of high expectations, collaboration, innovation, and respect for all students and staff. This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of school operations, including curriculum and instruction, school climate, personnel management, community engagement, and operational effectiveness to ensure a safe, supportive, and high-performing learning environment.
Licenseand Certification Qualifications
Required
- Hold Educational Leadership Tier II Certification at Level 6 or higher; OR
- Be eligible for a non-renewable Educational Leadership Tier II certificate while completing Educational Leadership Tier II program requirements at the Specialist level or higher leading to professional certification.
Required
- Master's Degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
Preferred
- Specialist Degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
- Doctoral Degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
Required
- Minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching experience, preferably at the same school level as the administrative position being filled.
Preferred
- Minimum of two (2) years of administrative leadership experience.

- Effectively manage conflict and respond to crises in a timely manner.
- Promote shared responsibility and collective ownership of school success.
- Recruit, select, and retain high-quality teachers and staff.
- Support the induction and onboarding of new employees.
- Mentor novice teachers and emerging leaders.
- Provide meaningful professional learning and growth opportunities.
- Develop and sustain mentoring programs grounded in best practices.
- Foster staff engagement and retention through a supportive work environment.
- Maintain a positive and growth-oriented evaluation culture.
- Demonstrate commitment to effective teacher evaluation practices.
- Document and assess teacher performance using multiple measures.
- Ensure compliance with all legal and district requirements regarding employee evaluation.
- Oversee daily school operations, facility maintenance, and safety initiatives.
- Utilize data to support and improve student achievement outcomes.
Seek, allocate, and manage fiscal resources effectively. - Coordinate and manage instructional and operational technology resources.
- Maintain responsible stewardship of school financial resources.
- Build strong partnerships with students, families, staff, and community stakeholders.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, students, parents, and families.
