Job Summary
Serve as a senior design‑producer supporting the Directorate of Public Works (DPW) at Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield. This role delivers complete, executable design packages (plans, specifications, and cost estimates) for fire protection (wet and/or dry pipe), HVAC/mechanical, and plumbing systems for new construction and renovation projects. The engineer performs site/field verification, applies applicable codes and government criteria (NFPA, International Fire Code, Unified Facilities Criteria), resolves design review comments, and coordinates with DPW stakeholders to ensure high‑quality, compliant deliverables.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver complete design packages for fire protection (wet and/or dry), HVAC/mechanical, and plumbing systems (plans, specifications, calculations, and cost estimates).
- Conduct field verification of existing conditions; document constraints and incorporate findings into design solutions.
- Perform engineering calculations (e.g., HVAC load calculations) and develop equipment selections, layouts, and sequences as applicable.

Salary/Hourly Rate: $90,000 and up
Type: Non‑SCA, Full‑Time
Work EnvironmentWork is performed on a military installation in a professional office setting and occasionally in operational facilities, mechanical rooms, and active construction sites for field verification. Exposure to noise, dust, varying temperatures, and construction hazards may occur during site visits.
Work Schedule: Standard hours are typically 07:30–16:00, Monday through Friday, excluding federal holidays, unless mission requirements dictate otherwise.
Professional AppearanceBusiness casual is standard for office work. Field visits require safe attire (long pants, closed‑toe shoes) and required PPE (e.g., hard hat, safety vest, eye protection). Contractor personnel must carry and display required identification while on Government premises.
Physical DemandsPeriodic standing, walking, climbing stairs, and accessing mechanical spaces during site visits. Occasional lifting/moving of items up to 20 pounds. Ability to traverse active work sites safely.
