Position: Entry-level Field Civil Engineer (CMT)

Are you a recent Civil Engineering graduate looking to kick‑start your career with hands‑on experience, mentorship, and exposure to high‑profile construction projects? NOVA Engineering is seeking an Entry-Level Field Engineer to join our Norcross, GA team supporting Construction Materials Testing (CMT) and Special Inspection projects across the Atlanta metro area.

This is a salaried position with paid overtime (1.5x base rate), offering an excellent opportunity to build real‑world engineering skills while working on large-scale, prestigious projects throughout the Southeast.

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Performing field inspection, sampling, and testing of soils, concrete, masonry, reinforcing steel, foundations, and other construction materials
  • Assisting with data reduction, analysis, and report preparation
  • Supporting project management and technical reporting
  • Working on a variety of projects including commercial, industrial, retail, government, office, and residential developments
  • Communicating with clients and project teams to support project success
  • Collaborating with NOVA team members to help meet project goals and company objectives
  • This role is approximately 90% field-based and 10% office-based, with occasional travel.

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • (or equivalent international degree with NCEES credential evaluation)
  • 0–3 years of experience in construction materials testing or inspection preferred, but not required
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred but not required
  • Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn
  • Interest in hands‑on fieldwork and professional growth
