A​/V System Design Engineer

Job Summary:

Our client is seeking a skilled and dedicated Audio Visual (AV) System Design Engineer to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing design, development, and commissioning complex AV systems from concept to completion. This role collaborates closely with clients, architects, and project teams to ensure high-quality design, documentation, and integration aligned with client's standards. Key Responsibilities:

+ Lead AV design efforts from concept through construction documentation.

+ Coordinate with account managers to define project scope, budgets, and deliverables.

+ Responsible for ordering equipment and dealing with labor pricing within budget.

+ Develop system drawings including schematics, riser diagrams, rack elevations, and detailed layouts.

+ Conduct site surveys and verify field conditions.

+ Perform full audiovisual system commissioning, including DSP configuration, video routing, and control system validation.

+ Collaborate with cross-discipline teams to resolve design challenges and ensure integration success.

+ Prepare detailed specifications and technical documentation for proposals and submittals.

+ Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

Qualifications & Skills:

Required skills:

+ 6~ years of experience in audiovisual system design, implementation, and commissioning (testing).

+ Strong knowledge of integrated AV systems including conferencing, broadcast, collaboration, and control environments.

+ Client/customer facing, they will be involved in pre-sales meetings.

+ 20-25% travel required. Travel is mostly all in the southeast. Will be gone for 2-3 days or a week at a time.

+ STRONG AutoCAD skills (2-D rendering)

+ Physical ability to walk a cat-walk or climb a ladder

+ Perform commissioning/testing. Program audio systems, setting audio levels properly.

+ Must be able to own project from concept to completion.

Nice to Have:

+

Experience with systems from Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS, Biamp, and similar technologies.

+ Revit skills (3-D rendering)

+

Experience with Bluebeam and Microsoft 365 tools.

+ Strong communication and project coordination skills.

+ AVIXA CTS-D certification nice to have.

+ QSC or DSP certifications nice to have.

+ Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

+ Strong multitasking ability and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

+ Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
