Systems Engineer, Aerospace / Aviation / Avionics, Test Engineer
Join a team that designs, develops, and integrates advanced RF systems and Counter UAS systems for Honeywell Aerospace. You will be a key technical leader ensuring the successful definition, decomposition, validation, and verification of system requirements across the full product lifecycle. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high integrity solutions for gas turbine engine applications.
You will work across the Antenna Center of Excellence (ACOE) — part of the Electronic Solutions business—to support program execution, ensure technical rigor, and meet key customer and business milestones.
ACOE has two broad type of products, RF Systems and Counter UAS systems. As the Principal Systems Engineer, you will support both product types to guide a small team responsible for the requirements-based engineering of RF system functions and components. While providing direction and technical oversight, you will also contribute hands on to requirements generation, system architecture, interface definition, and V&V activities.
ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities
- Provide technical direction, coaching, and review of work products created by the requirements engineering team
- Ensure completeness, traceability, and compliance of system requirements across all lifecycle phases
- Lead system architecture discussions, functional decomposition, interface definition, and requirements allocation
- Apply environmental qualification requirements (DO160, MILSTD
810, MILSTD
461) to RF systems, including identifying gaps between current capability and requirement intent, and determining closure strategies such as similarity, analysis, or targeted testing
- Develop, decompose, and manage system and subsystem requirements for RF systems
- Oversee and participate in validation and verification planning, execution, and documentation
- Review and approve requirements, test plans, test procedures, and V&V evidence
- Work closely with hardware, software, test, and project engineering to ensure alignment between requirements and implementation
- Coordinate requirement changes, resolve technical issues, and support impact assessments
- Participate in project planning and provide input to schedules, milestones, and technical risk assessments
- Ensure timely, high quality delivery of engineering artifacts
- Engage with internal and external customers to clarify requirements, present technical status, and support design reviews
Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.
