Why ESiESi's Thermal practice brings together experts in fire, explosion, chemical, electrical, and fire protection engineering to solve complex problems across industrial, commercial, and energy sectors. The team supports high‑profile investigations and proactive safety and risk reduction efforts in a collaborative, hands‑on environment.
Key Responsibilities- Investigates electrical system failures, equipment malfunctions, construction defects, electrical fires, and shock and electrocution incidents.
- Performs engineering analysis and applies knowledge of applicable electrical codes and standards (NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, OSHA).
- Conducts field inspections of electrical systems, equipment, and installations.
- Authors high‑quality technical reports and supports expert opinions.
- Provides expert testimony at deposition and trial, or supports senior testifying experts.
- Conducts and supports client presentations.
- Establishes work plans and staffing for project phases; confers with project personnel on duties and scope.
- Coordinates projects within prescribed schedule and budget scopes.
- Works with Business Development to identify potential clients and strategies.
- Mentors staff‑level employees in growth and development.
- Actively seeks to develop professionally in skills, experience, and industry reputation.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
- Master's degree or Ph.D. preferred.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) required.
- 5‑10 years of experience in electrical engineering consulting, design, or forensic investigation.
- Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE standards, and relevant OSHA regulations.
- Track record authoring high‑quality technical reports; experience providing expert testimony desirable.
- Preferred experience in the consulting industry.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite; familiarity with electrical engineering analysis software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to develop client relationships professionally.
- Ability to explain complex electrical engineering concepts clearly to non‑technical audiences.
- Must be available to travel occasionally as part of the national practice.

The pay range listed reflects a good‑faith estimate of the compensation we expect to offer most candidates for this role. Total compensation includes a competitive base salary and bonus opportunity, with final pay determined by job‑related factors such as experience, qualifications, individual performance, and overall company performance.
After internal discussions and market research, the current pay band for this opportunity is $100,000 to $140,000.
