Payroll Specialist
Norcross, GA
Position Summary:
The Payroll Specialist will process payroll and maintain employee time records in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and company policies and procedures. This position works closely with other departments to ensure accurate and timely payment of wages and applicable deductions.
This position requires on-site attendance a minimum of two days per week and is located in Norcross, GA. Additional attendance may be required based on business needs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Processes information in the payroll system; information may include employees’ time worked, paid leave and holidays, withholding, and other information on a regular schedule (weekly, monthly).
- Ensure proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes and garnishments.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations, including tax obligations and labor laws.
- Reconciles payroll to the general ledger and monthly bank statements.
- Issues, or reissues, physical or replacement direct deposits due to payroll errors or final discharge.
- Records and processes federal and state payroll tax deposits.
- Maintains precise payroll records and documentation, preparing reports for internal use or audits.
- Addresses employee inquiries regarding payroll discrepancies, paychecks, and changes in payroll information.
- Other duties and projects assigned
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, business or related field with 3+ years of payroll processing experience for both union and non-union facilities.
- Proficient in payroll software, ADP preferred.
- Any payroll certifications preferred.
- Demonstrate effective communications (verbal, written) skills
- Proficient with MS Office Word and Excel
- Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent multi-tasking capabilities while meeting deadlines with accuracy
- Maintain discretion when working with confidential and proprietary information
- Strict adherence to Company safety policies and procedures
