Are you a recent Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) graduate eager to step into a meaningful leadership role? The Administrator in Training (AIT) Program is a structured, hands-on pathway designed to develop future healthcare administrators who will lead with compassion, integrity, and excellence.
As an AIT, you’ll work alongside experienced leaders to learn the operational, regulatory, and people-focused skills required to successfully manage a hospice agency. This program blends guided mentorship, project-based learning, and real-world leadership exposure—preparing you to transition into an Administrator role upon successful completion.
The Administrator in Training Program prepares emerging leaders to manage day-to-day operations of a Pruitt Health Skilled Nursing facility. Through structured modules, mentorship from seasoned administrators, and immersive learning experiences, you will build competence in compliance, quality, operations, staffing, patient care coordination, and customer service.
The AIT program with Pruitt Health allows you to work under the guidance of a licensed preceptor and eventually be placed as an administrator post training and competition of state and national testing.
Key Learning & Skill Development Areas Operational & Leadership Foundations- Shadow and learn all aspects of operating a Pruitt Health Skilled Nursing Healthcare Center, including clinical, administrative, and operational workflows.
- Complete all AIT program modules and receive satisfactory evaluations throughout the program.
- Assist in operational projects, contributing professional insights and delivering results on time.
- Focus on day-to-day operations in a post-acute care facility to meet the ongoing needs of patients and families.
- Engage daily with your assigned preceptor to review progress, challenges, and learning goals.
- Demonstrate strong customer service principles in every interaction with staff, patients, and families.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, leadership, and external partners.
- Support administrative tasks and other assignments from the Administrator and Area Vice President.
- Participate in agency surveys (Licensure, JCAHO) and assist with follow-up documentation and reports.
- Attend continuing education events to stay current with regulatory and industry trends.
- Participate in required in-services and training programs.
- Uphold patient rights to dignity, privacy, fairness, and self-determination.
- Adhere to and support the corporate compliance program and safety standards (infection control, fire prevention, workplace safety, etc.).
- Report potential occupational hazards and follow all established safety procedures.
- Take on additional duties as assigned to support office operations.
Education
- Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in a healthcare-related field accepted.
Skills & Attributes
- Strong interest in healthcare leadership, operations, and patient-centered service.
- Experience in post-acute care or skilled nursing helpful.
- Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills.
- Ability to learn quickly, manage multiple tasks, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to compassionate care.

- Must pass all background checks, including Sanction Check and licensure validation (as applicable).
