Overview
Powering the world's payments ecosystem. The Security Engineer is responsible for implementing, supporting, and maintaining security controls, tools, and processes that protect company systems, networks, and information assets. This role contributes to day-to-day security engineering and operational activities, including secure configuration, monitoring, alert response, incident support, documentation, and continuous improvement. The position works collaboratively with other technical teams to strengthen security controls and support reliable operational execution.
Responsibilities- Implement, administer, and support security controls and technologies used to protect systems, networks, and data.
- Monitor, evaluate, and maintain secured environments through established security tools, processes, and procedures.
- Support investigation and remediation of security alerts, events, and vulnerabilities, and assist with internal security investigations as needed.
- Contribute to documentation, operational procedures, and runbooks to support consistent security operations and incident handling.
- Assist with security audits, evidence gathering, and remediation activities to minimize security risk and support policy compliance.
- Partner with other technical teams to implement secure configurations and support operational improvements.
- Participate in the on-call support rotation for security incidents, including alert triage, investigation support, escalation, and execution of established incident response procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned and understand and adhere to all corporate policies, including the ACI Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2-4 years of experience in security engineering, security operations, or a related technical discipline.
- Working knowledge of security fundamentals, including access controls, system hardening, encryption concepts, monitoring, and network/security basics.
- Ability to support operational security tasks, respond to alerts, follow documented procedures, and escalate appropriately.
- Certifications may be preferred, but are not required.
- Experience with SIEM, monitoring, vulnerability management, or endpoint security tools.
- Familiarity with cloud security fundamentals in AWS, Azure, or similar environments.
- Experience contributing to technical documentation, runbooks, or audit evidence collection.
- Certifications may be viewed favorably but are not required for this role.
- Standard work environment.
- Some overtime or after-hours support may be required.
- Participation in an on-call rotation is required to support incident response and urgent security operations activities.
- Travel opportunities may be limited.
