Commercial Construction Junior Buyer – Direct Hire Opportunity
A growing organization within the commercial construction and building materials industry is seeking a Junior Buyer to join its Supply Chain team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career purchasing professional looking to build upon their buying experience while working alongside an experienced team in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
The Junior Buyer will support the procurement of construction materials and supplies, assist with inventory planning, maintain vendor relationships, and help ensure products are available to meet customer demand and project timelines. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with vendors, analyzing purchasing data, and developing a career in supply chain and procurement.
What You'll Be Doing- Assist with purchasing commercial construction materials, products, and supplies
- Create, manage, and track purchase orders to ensure timely delivery
- Support inventory replenishment efforts by monitoring stock levels and demand
- Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors and suppliers
- Assist in obtaining competitive pricing, quotes, and delivery terms
- Help resolve shipping, invoice, quality, and delivery issues with suppliers
- Monitor backorders, special orders, and direct shipments to ensure customer needs are met
- Analyze purchasing and inventory reports to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
- Partner with sales, warehouse, operations, and accounting teams to support day-to-day purchasing activities
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and vendor information
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- 1–3 years of purchasing, procurement, inventory, or supply chain experience
- Experience with in commercial construction, building materials, industrial distribution, manufacturing, or a related industry is strongly preferred
- Basic understanding of purchasing processes and inventory management
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and grow within a purchasing career
