, a subsidiary of Trinity Rail, is seeking a Regional Manager for the South/Eastern Region
.

As a Regional Manager at RSI, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing transloading operations across multiple terminals. This role requires comprehensive knowledge of industry transloading standards. The ideal candidate will be a proactive self‑starter and a collaborative team player, dedicated to promoting the RSI/Trinity values of safety, honesty, integrity, and efficiency.

What you’ll do:
  • Terminal Operations:
    Direct and optimize terminal activities to ensure efficient handling of commodities while maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include managing bulk transfer operations, office functions, maintenance tasks, and facilitating both internal and external communications.
  • Workforce Management:
    Collaborate with the Trinity HR Talent Team to ensure adequate staffing levels. Maintain regular communication with Terminal Managers regarding operational status and address any issues promptly through proper escalation protocols. Clear and timely communication in both verbal and written formats is essential.
  • Safety Compliance:
    Uphold stringent safety standards and regulatory practices in all terminal operations.
  • Perfor ma nce Metrics:
    Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate terminal effectiveness and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • SOP Compliance:
    Instruct, develop, and maintain standard operating procedure compliance to provide consistent service across markets.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    Identify and implement process enhancements and best practices to improve operational efficiency.
  • Culture Development:
    Foster a positive workplace culture among direct reports and throughout the region.
  • Training and Development:
    Provide comprehensive training to direct reports on procedures, practices, and company policies, ensuring clarity in roles and responsibilities.
  • Expense Management:
    Oversee and manage regional expenses.
  • Travel Requirement:
    Minimum 50‑70% travel to assigned terminals; occasional travel for off‑site meetings and cross‑regional support.
Qualifications

What you’ll need:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum five years’ experience and expertise in railroad terminal operations, transloading, safety regulations, and applicable industry standards.
  • At least three years of proven leadership experience required.
  • Prior customer‑facing experience highly preferred.
  • Exceptional communication and customer relationship management skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure, resolve problems, and make sound decisions.
  • Live or relocate somewhere within the region is preferred.
