Operations Manager, Program / Project Manager
As the Permitting Project Manager, you are responsible for managing the permitting process for all Waffle House Reimaging and New Unit Development projects. In this role, you will coordinate with multiple government agencies, oversee application submissions, maintain accurate permit tracking, and ensure a smooth handoff to the Construction Team. You will play a key role in ensuring that projects stay on track, permits remain active, and communication flows effectively between departments.
The Permitting Project Manager is a Support Team role based out of our Corporate Office in Norcross, GA in the Metro Atlanta area. Our Corporate Office Support Team consists of 300+ Associates who are committed to supporting our Operations Team as they proudly serve and create memorable experiences for our Customers. - Manage permitting for all reimaging and new unit development projects
- Submit building and civil plans, applications, and documents to local and state agencies
- Meet with permitting officials to discuss and resolve variance options
- Maintain and update the Smartsheet permit tracking database to ensure accuracy and transparency
- Coordinate and communicate project permit status with the Construction Team to support scheduling needs
- Prepare and organize final digital and hard copy files for all permitted projects
- Conduct zoning, planning, and code research to support project execution
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines on multiple projects
- Knowledge of construction and permitting processes
- A proactive team player with strong problem‑solving skills
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage long‑term project tracking
- Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, and Smart Sheets preferred
- Reliable personal transportation and willingness to travel occasionally (
