Overview
As a Machinist - Level 3 here at Honeywell, you will operate and maintain advanced machining equipment to ensure precision and quality in our manufacturing processes. Your expertise will contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of our production operations, helping us meet customer demands and uphold our commitment to excellence. Safety glasses and steel-toe footwear are required. This is a 1st Shift role with Saturdays and/or Sundays possibly included.
US PERSON REQUIREMENT Due to export control law, candidates must be a US citizen, permanent resident or have protected status under asylum or refugee status.
Responsibilities- Successfully create parts from a blueprint, manufacturing operations and tooling instructions, or engineering instruction.
- Set up and operate CNC vertical and horizontal milling machines with Fanuc and Haas controls, CNC horizontal lathes, mills, grinders, etc., to very close tolerances.
- Consistently work with +/- .001 and tighter tolerances to a profile of +/- .0005.
- Use micrometers and other measuring instruments to perform quality control checks on parts in process and upon completion.
- Maintain equipment and the work area in a clean and orderly manner.
- Perform necessary tasks and paperwork for proper movement and control of parts and materials in conjunction with manufacturing tracking systems.
- Actively participate in Honeywell Operating System (HOS) activities, daily meetings, and discuss any shift-related issues.
- Perform daily job functions in accordance with policies from HSE&F, Quality, and housekeeping.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule to provide coverage across all shifts including weekend day and/or night shift.
- Must adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations.
- Lifting is generally at or below 30 lbs. without significant repetitions; moderate exposure to machinery, chemical, and physical risks is anticipated.
- Work with acetone and alcohol as needed.
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED) is required
- Machine Shop Technology program completion or certification
- 8+ years machining experience required
- Ability to set up and machine a variety of parts
- Knowledge and understanding of engineering drawings and the use of GD&T dimensioning
- Working knowledge of basic inspection tools with the capability of inspecting parts prior to final QA
- Capable of understanding G codes, write and editing small (minor) programs at the machine
- Working knowledge (basic troubleshooting skills) of CNC horizontal and vertical machines, four- and five-axis machines, CNC lathes
- Experience machining aluminum
- Good writing and verbal communication skills, including basic computer knowledge
