Job Description

The Event Consultant works with clients to plan and coordinate events that exceed their expectations. This position is client-centered and focused, involving proactive client service, detailed follow-up, and support in regard to rental equipment and customer appointments. Characteristics of a successful Event Consultant include a sense of urgency, a customer/client focus, and a positive, outgoing attitude.

Essential Functions
  • Maintain and grow a sales portfolio.
  • Prepare and execute proposals and rental contracts.
  • Assists with renting equipment or arranges for delivery of service to the customer.
  • Provides solutions for clients’ events, creating the vision of the event with the client in a solution-oriented manner.
  • Presents pricing and payment options.
  • Handles prospective leads as they come in.
  • Supports other teammates as needed.
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Adaptable to client changes and event alterations.
  • Ability to navigate clients’ dissatisfactions with a servant-minded attitude.
  • Team player.
  • Ability to multi-task and be results-driven.
Supervisory Responsibilities

This position does not supervise staff.

  • Most work will be indoors with limited exposure to outside elements.
  • The job requires constant interaction with the public via phone or in person.
  • May work in close proximity to other people, such as when sharing or entering office space.
  • Hours worked/scheduled are generally 40 hours per week; additional hours may be required as needed.
Physical Demands
  • Mostly works in an indoor/office environment.
  • May work in close proximity to other people, such as when sharing or entering office space.
  • May be required to lift occasionally, generally less than 10 lbs.
Required

Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must possess sales and customer relation skills.
  • Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel advanced knowledge and experience required. Training on rental software will be provided.
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written.
  • Ability to follow instructions and execute accordingly.
  • Reliable and dependable with attendance, follow-up, and follow-through with clients and teammates.
Preferred

Education and Experience
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
  • Event knowledge and experience.
  • Previous event coordination experience is a plus (weddings, festivals, etc.).
  • High degree of flexibility, adjusting to every day being different.
  • Cooperative and a team player.
  • Maintains a professional personal appearance and demeanor.
Travel Required

Occasionally to and from job sites.
