School Safety Officer; Gwinnett County Public Schools

We are seeking professional, dependable, and community-focused School Safety Officers to support a safe and structured learning environment within Gwinnett County Public Schools for the  School Year. This role is centered around prevention, visibility, and positive interaction with students, staff, and visitors.

• Maintain a visible presence on campus to deter and prevent safety concerns
• Monitor entrances, exits, and campus activity throughout assigned shifts
• Conduct routine patrols of school grounds and facilities
• Assist with arrival, dismissal, and high-traffic periods to ensure order and safety
• Respond promptly to incidents, disturbances, or emergencies
• Enforce school policies and safety procedures in a professional manner
• Provide support to school administrators and staff as needed
• Complete detailed incident and activity reports

• Previous security, law enforcement, or school safety experience preferred
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact positively with students of all ages
• Professional, calm, and authoritative presence
• Ability to remain alert and proactive in a dynamic school environment
• Strong judgment and conflict resolution skills

• Must pass a comprehensive background screening in accordance with school district standards
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening
• Must possess a valid Georgia 24-Hour Unarmed Security Officer Certification prior to start date
• Must be able to meet all clearance requirements required for placement within Gwinnett County Public Schools
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Reliable transportation and consistent attendance required
