Service Technician Diesel I
Pay: $27-35/hr
Responsibilities- Basic understanding of service intervals.
- Locate fluid types, capacities, and special instructions in the manufacturer’s digital service manual.
- Service, grease, and lubricate all mobile equipment.
- Inspect all mobile equipment to identify and troubleshoot the cause of errors.
- Perform repairs to address problems when necessary.
- Handle, install, position, and move parts, materials, and industrialhand tools safely throughout the shop and plant.
- Ensure correct and accurate documentation is completed daily and monthly regarding all mobile equipment.
- Enter and maintain service reports for all mobile equipment in written or electronic form.
- Perform physical activities requiring body movement, including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience working on diesel or heavy construction equipment preferred.
- Additional vocational or trade school training in a mechanical field preferred.
- Knowledge of general principles and practices of servicing heavy construction equipment preferred.
- Must be willing to work overtime, extended hours, and weekends as required.
- Must be able to work in all weather conditions and tolerate loud noise.
- Knowledge of industrial tools, their uses, and maintenance.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to apply safety protocols and participate in safety management (MSHA and Vulcan standards).
- Communication: clear and effective information exchange, active listening.
- Safety Awareness: recognize, adhere to, and promote safety protocols.
- Attention to Detail: thorough, accurate task completion.
- Collaboration:
effective teamwork and open communication. - Technical Expertise: mechanical understanding of mobile equipment, basic maintenance, troubleshooting.
