Job Description:

The Sprinkler Technician will service and repair wet, dry, and pre‑action fire suppression systems, conduct routine preventative maintenance, and test backflow prev enters.

• Conduct routine preventative maintenance on fire sprinkler suppression systems.
• Perform manual labor including lifting, climbing, and cleanup.
• Service and repair wet, dry, and pre‑action fire suppression systems in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
• Test flow of fire hydrants.
• Interact with customers in a professional manner.
• Follow directions and work independently when needed.
• Select and use threading machine, battery‑operated hand tools, and basic hand tools safely.
• Read and interpret blueprints.
• Diagnose all types of sprinkler systems, fire pumps, and backflow assemblies and know how they operate.
• Complete paperwork thoroughly (work orders, time cards, driving records).
• Use iPad or laptop with blueprint software (plus).
• Safely shut down, diagnose, and repair deficiencies in fire protection systems.
• Maintain accurate and timely maintenance records, both written and electronically.
• Practice safe work practices per OSHA requirements.
• Work as a self‑starter and with minimal supervision.

• Capable of performing physical labor, carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 70 lbs.
• Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, and work in confined spaces.
• Work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high‑lift equipment up to 60 feet.
• Work within ducts, crawl spaces, and above ceilings.
• Read and understand construction blueprints, diagrams, and specifications used in installation activities.
• Work flexible hours.

• Minimum 3 years of independent field experience with fire protection systems.
• Experience with fire protection systems and components.
• Mechanically inclined with strong attention to detail.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Positive attitude and willingness to obtain progressive certifications (NFPA, NICET, etc.).
• Ability to complete accurate and timely work records electronically.
• Ability to work safely and precisely shut down and diagnose various fire protection systems.
• Good problem‑solving skills, both independently and as part of a team.
