Truck Driver - Hiker​/Vehicle Transporter​/CDL - Part Time

Position Summary

Penske Truck Leasing seeks highly motivated and qualified applicants to fill the Hiker (Vehicle Transporter/Truck Driver) position. This role involves vehicle delivery and returning vehicles to Penske locations and customers, primarily moving box trucks up to 26’ and for CDL Class A also tractors and trailer movement. The driver may also assist the service department with parts and equipment deliveries.

This is a casual/on‑call part‑time truck driving job suitable for licensed CDL Class B or CDL Class A drivers seeking supplemental income, working 0 to 25 hours per week based on business needs.

Monday - Friday: 7:00 am – 2:00 pm at our Norcross location, 2300 Weaver Way, GA. Class A or Class B CDL required.

• Follow appropriate safety procedures while driving trucks to Penske or customer locations.
• Check vehicles to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order; report any issues to the location manager.
• Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required.
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
• Complete other projects and tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

• 2 years of driving experience required.
• 2 years of a clean DMV motor vehicle record required.
• Valid Class B CDL required; applicants must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in their state of residence.
• CDL Class A license preferred.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions.
• Ability to work independently, exhibit customer service skills, organization, and a positive attitude.
• English language proficiency is required to comply with federal law (49 C.F.R. 391.11(b)(2)).
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Maintaining a current driver qualification file is required; this includes an annual motor vehicle records (MVR) check, a completed DOT Physical, Safety Performance History records from prior employers within the last 3 years, and a DOT drug screening within 30 days of start. CDL holders must also be subject to FMCSA Clearinghouse review.
• Willingness to travel as necessary, adhere to the required schedule, work at the specified location, complete the Penske employment application, and submit to background investigation and drug screening.

• Must be able to move frequently, stand, walk, and sit; frequently use hands to touch, handle, feel, and reach. Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs/23 kg and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs/45 kg.
• Must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle and safely and frequently enter/exit the vehicle as well as its rear cargo area.
