Seasonal Driver

This position is responsible for:

Drives truck and/or van to mall(s) to pick up gifts and take them to the Christmas warehouse. Responsible for driving the truck and/or van to and from homes, agencies and churches to pick up gifts, stockings, etc. Loads and unloads gifts from the truck to the warehouse. Operates the truck and/or van in compliance with established Salvation Army standards and State driving regulations;

lifts, carries, loads and unloads Christmas donations, gifts, stocks, etc.; ensures the safety, security and accountability of the vehicle and donations at all times; assists in performing work at the Christmas warehouse and center as requested.

Key Responsibilities:

Drive trucks to and from malls to pick up gifts and take to the Christmas warehouse, organizing scheduling pick-ups by most direct route to arrive at destinations according to schedule.

Knowledge of the assigned geographic area.

Drives trucks to homes, agencies, churches and any other designated location to pick up gifts, stockings, etc. to take to the Christmas warehouse.

Maintains cleanliness of truck and/or van inside and outside.

Assist with janitorial work in the Christmas warehouse as needed.

Assist with routing of traffic when necessary, at the Christmas Center as requested.

Assist with setting up trees, tables and stands for Christmas display and disassembling at the end of the Christmas Season.

Perform other related work as required

Physical Requirements and

Working Conditions:

Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to organize routes in a manner that saves time and gasoline consumption. Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with co-workers and donors. Ability to perform general cleaning activities for building. Ability to follow instructions. Work is performed in a warehouse building with some exposure to outdoor temperatures, dirt, dust and/or disagreeable sights and orders.

Education and Experience:

A High School diploma or GED. ANDTwo years driving experience.

Certifications:
