The Accounting Manager is a key member of the division leadership team responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial operations while leading the finance team to operational excellence. This role manages general accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, inventory accounting, tax compliance, audit coordination, and internal controls. The Accounting Manager will also drive continuous process improvements, provide financial guidance to business leaders, and develop the finance team while supporting the organization's long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities- Lead all day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, fixed assets, tax accounting, inventory accounting, and financial reporting.
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, forecasts, budgets, and management reports.
- Assist in the development and management of the annual operating budget and financial forecasts.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Oversee inventory accounting, reconciliation, and reporting activities.
- Ensure compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead internal and external audit processes while maintaining audit readiness.
- Develop, implement, and communicate accounting policies, procedures, and financial controls.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting systems, processes, and operational efficiencies.
- Provide financial analysis and decision support to operations and other business departments.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives and continuous improvement efforts across the organization.
- Lead, mentor, train, and develop members of the finance team.
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
- Champion workplace safety by supporting and enforcing company safety policies and procedures.
- Support strategic initiatives and prepare for future leadership opportunities within the organization.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related financial leadership role.
- Experience managing general accounting functions, financial reporting, and month-end close.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Manufacturing or cost accounting experience preferred.
- Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience coordinating internal and external audits.
- SAP ERP experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting expertise.
- General ledger and month-end close management.
- Inventory and cost accounting knowledge.
- Internal controls and compliance management.
- Financial analysis and business decision support.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with SAP or comparable ERP systems.
- Excellent leadership and team development abilities.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
